UAII Childcare & Resource Center is inviting moms and little ones to join our Mommy & Me Self-Regulation Class, a supportive space to learn calming techniques, emotional tools, and healthy ways to work through those overwhelming moments together. From frustration to tantrums to everyday emotions, this class is here to remind families that support, connection, and community matter.
Come learn practical strategies in a welcoming environment while spending intentional time with your child and connecting with other parents in the community.

Seeing our urban Native community come together made the planning and preparing worth it. From the dancing and vendors to reconnecting with familiar faces, it was a great time filled with culture, laughter, and community spirit.

Today, we honor the Native relatives who served with strength, courage, and deep love for their people and communities. Indigenous people have served in the United States military carrying forward generations of warrior traditions, sacrifice, and resilience.
This Memorial Day, UAII remembers and honors the Native service members who gave their lives in service. We hold space for their stories, their families, and the lasting impact they continue to have on our communities.
In observance of Memorial Day, our offices will be closed Monday, May 25th. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday.

We are honored to share that UAII received the award for “Best Film” at the 2026 Indigenous Stories Film Festival and Art Walk for the Peoples Home film. ✨
Held on May 1st at the Rincon Reservation in Valley Center, CA, the event brought together Indigenous storytellers, artists, and communities to celebrate Native voices through film and art. UAII staff proudly accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring this story to life and continue uplifting Indigenous stories!
UAII joined the Boys & Girls Club for a fun afternoon of lunch, community, and connection!
We enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, raffle giveaways, UAII trivia, and a special screening of a new video created by BGCUAII youth. It was a great opportunity to come together, share space, and celebrate the creativity and energy of our youth.

Today, we recognize Native Nonprofit Day and the importance of supporting Native-led organizations serving communities across the country.
Native-led and Native-serving nonprofits receive only 0.25% to 0.4% of annual foundation and philanthropic dollars. Despite this funding gap, Native organizations continue providing vital healthcare, cultural programming, youth services, advocacy, and community care.
United American Indian Involvement is proud to serve Native and Indigenous communities in Los Angeles through culturally centered care rooted in community and connection.

This month, we recognize the Yurok Tribe, the largest federally recognized Tribe in California, whose history, traditions, and way of life remain deeply connected to the Klamath River and Northern California coastline. 🌊🪶
