We wanted to share a few special moments from the Sand Creek Ceremonial Ground during this year`s Green Corn Ceremony, a sacred celebration that marks the Yuchi New Year.
Green Corn is a time of renewal, gratitude, and coming together as a community. It is a time to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead with hope for the year to come.

Diapers and wipes are available while supplies last. To receive supplies, families must provide proof of the child`s age by either:
• Bringing the child in person, or
• Providing documentation showing the child`s date of birth (such as a birth certificate, school record, or medical record).

Every Indigenous language holds generations of history, teachings, and connection to the land. By celebrating Native languages, we recognize that they are living, evolving, and essential to the future of Indigenous communities.

On National Navajo Code Talkers Day, we honor the courage, resilience, and brilliance of the Navajo Code Talkers and all Native Code Talkers whose languages became one of the most effective military codes in history. Their service is a powerful reminder that Indigenous languages are not only carriers of culture and identity, but also sources of strength, innovation, and resilience.
Today, we honor their legacy by supporting Indigenous language revitalization, preserving Native cultures, and ensuring future generations continue to speak, learn, and celebrate their ancestral languages.

Founded in 1974 by Marian Zucco (Paiute) and Babba Cooper (Lakota), UAII was created to support Native people in Los Angeles with culturally grounded care and a place to belong. More than 50 years later, that mission continues to guide everything we do.
As we introduce our new logo, we`re also returning to our roots. Inspired by UAII`s original identity, this refreshed logo honors the vision of our founders while reflecting the organization we are today and the future we are building together.
Our logo has evolved, but our purpose remains the same, to serve Native communities with compassion, respect, and cultural integrity.

UAII is honored to partner with Indigenous educator Thosh Collins to launch our Indigenous Men`s Healing Circle, a space for Indigenous men to connect, reflect, heal and grow together.
Together, participants will explore Indigenous identity, healing from historical and personal trauma, wellness, sobriety, leadership, and cultural responsibility through guided discussions, movement, ceremony, and reflection.
