SAGE Project

SAGE (Strengthening All Generations through traditional Experience) is a program funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to implement the traditional knowledge and practices of our elders in creating a healthier future.

This unique program supplements and enhances the existing services at UAII by bringing several departments together to keep our community members healthy.

Eligibility

The SAGE Project is open to youth, families, and elders registered with any UAII Program.

Inter-Generational Learning

Working with the UAII Elder Program, we bring the knowledge of our community elders to our youth to create opportunities for discussion and promote inter-generational learning.

Traditional Activities

The SAGE Project supports the Archery Program of the American Indian Clubhouse to highlight traditional aspects of our Native culture and activities.

Traditional Foods

Working with the Health Project, we explore a variety of topics, including outdoor activities like community gardening and leading a healthy lifestyle.
