Bill Abbott

Director of Human Resources

Bill Abbott is a member of the Tlingit Tribe, and was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. Bill became the Human Resources Director with UAII in January 2024. Bill Attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he earned two degrees; a bachelor’s in business administration degree with an emphasis in HR Management in 1998, then a master’s in business administration in Capital Markets in 2000. Bill started his professional human resources career in 2001 as an HR Generalist with his Indian Health Services (IHS) compact in Sitka, Alaska, with the Southeast Alaska Regional Heath Consortium (SEARHC). He earned his Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and has maintained it since 2003. Bill has about 20 years of overall HR experience, and has worked within healthcare, banking, his Native Corporations, and Tribal governments.
