We are currently expanding our leadership team with two candidates who will help us reach our goals. Are you passionate about the physical, emotional, spiritual, and economic health of Los Angeles American Indians/Alaska Natives? Do you wish to learn more about the accessibility of culturally sensitive service providers and non-profit governance, while coordinating with a top-notch group of accomplished colleagues? Then please consider applying for a 2021 Board nomination slot.
Because we pride ourselves on an engaged board that represents our diverse membership, our Board Development Committee will review all applications and recommend two candidates who are the best current fit. A preference will be given to individuals with experience in accounting, finance, human resources, organizational development, or conflict resolution.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Have a professional reputation that enhances UAII’s reputation and strengthens the Board’s role in supporting the organization’s mission.
- Have a clear understanding of governance and the importance of shared understanding with management about accountabilities and decision-making processes.
- Have sufficient knowledge of management of a growing organization in a rapidly changing environment to provide substantive advice.
We encourage local tribal members and Elders to apply. However, we will consider anyone who has leadership experience and a strong passion for working in the American Indian/Alaska Native community.
