Denise “DJ” Johnson

Housing Program Manager

Denise “DJ” Johnson is the Housing Program Manager at UAII, bringing 15 years of law enforcement experience and 21 years of dedicated experience in social services and nonprofit leadership. Throughout her career, she has specialized in program management and development, advocacy for individuals with disabilities, and the implementation of trauma-informed care frameworks to support high-risk populations. Throughout her distinguished career, DJ has focused heavily on training and mentoring the next generation of social service professionals, equipping teams with the critical skills necessary to navigate complex community resources. She remains deeply committed to empowering vulnerable individuals and fostering long-term systemic change.

DJ holds an Associate’s Degree in Human Services from Midlands Technical College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Benedict College (HBCU), graduating Magna Cum Laude, and Graduate Studies in Business and Alcohol and Drug Addiction from CCAPP.

Outside of her professional role, DJ is a passionate sports fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Dallas Cowboys, and South Carolina Lady Gamecocks Basketball, and she loves Opera.
