Los Angeles, CA — November 2025
United American Indian Involvement (UAII) stands in solidarity with our Native families and community members affected by the federal government shutdown, which has disrupted the distribution of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) benefits.
Effective immediately, UAII is activating emergency protocols and transitioning into a community food bank. We are accepting monetary donations and food items to support those who relied on these essential nutrition programs. Our team will also continue serving individuals previously supported through The People’s Store — UAII’s free, shoppable community pantry — ensuring that no one is left behind during this crisis.
The UAII Board of Directors has invoked its emergency powers to respond swiftly and compassionately. We remain committed to protecting the health, dignity, and well-being of our community.
