Dear Members of the UAII Community,

I trust that you are well and safe.  I am writing because I wanted to share some updates on the reopening of UAII for workshops and group activities.

Although UAII has been open to scheduled appointments, we are looking to our city and state officials for guidance on how to address social gatherings for many of our activities.  Our tentative goal is to reopen UAII for group activities and workshops by Monday, July 6th.  More details will be released in the near future.  It will be different from everything we’ve known and I hope you will give us feedback along the way.

Over the past couple of months, UAII staff have adopted additional public health guidelines that promote safety while visiting UAII.  Some examples include increased cleaning and disinfecting of commonly touched surface areas, promoting hand hygiene by washing hands, practicing social distancing by placing markings on the floor, providing face coverings for our employees and Community that are onsite and screening all visitors and employees with touchless temperature checks.

I hope to see you soon and want to extend my sincere appreciation for your patience during this time.  I know it has not been easy but we are all in this together.  Stay strong and stay positive.  As always, please continue to be safe and look after yourself, your loved ones, and especially our Elders.

Eugene Martinez

Interim Chief Executive Officer
